Without which, in my opinion, all would be lost. Would we fall to chaos? History is no longer a thing of the past it can be brought to life by the recordings in the literary arts! We all bring different opinions and backgrounds to the table. We are able to blur the very lines of time with communication.
Or what we learn? All the authors that we covered have realized this in their lives as well. It gives communications meaning. There would be nothing to pass down to generations to come. They also allow us to have individuality.
I think Rodriguez took his view on the literate arts to an extreme. Letting the important meanings of things slide by unnoticed is a tragedy in and of itself. The literate arts are in everything we do. As a community, we all work together and the literate arts allow us to work towards the same basic goals.
What is the reason for the literate arts? To be able to express myself though the literary arts writing, reading, art, music, etc.
Rodriguez used the literary arts to better himself and his life. University of Pittisburg Press, I disagree with these views. He used his education as a band-aide to bridge the many gaps in his home life.
When he needed advice, he looked to his education for the answers. Our history, the present, and the future seem to ride on the survival of communication. Or would things become simpler? Pratt talked about how the literary arts are good for us individually and our societies as a whole.
What is history without stories? Writing helps us relate to each other no matter how vast our differences may be.
To me, this experience has been an eye opener! Educations would crumble, our histories would almost be nonexistent. This relationship to education helps what is learned to keep expanding it in the act of transference.

In the three essays, “The ‘Banking’ Concept of Education” by Paulo Freire, “Against School” by John Taylor Gatto and “The Achievement of Desire” by Richard Rodriguez, the authors realize different problems of the educational system and have different opinions about it.
Paulo Freire proposes two styles of teaching: the banking concept and problem-posing education. Through Freire’s lens, Richard Rodriguez would be seen as a banking student, but could later be seen as a problem-posing student throughout the course of his life.

Education is looked at in depth by both Richard Rodriguez in his essay, “The Achievement of Desire”, and by Paulo Freire in his essay, “The ‘Banking’ Concept of Education.” After reading both essays, one can make some assumptions about different methods of education and exactly by which method Rodriguez was taught.
